Sun Surveyor (Sun & Moon) App Reviews

I used this app to design and locate the optimal greenhouse in my location. Kids use it to understand earths relationship to the sun and moon. Love it, very well written, nice work developer.

Really helped us arrange plants in the spring for summer sun. We have a bunch of large trees that shade our property. This app let us determine areas that would be in full sun in the summer so we could put the right plants in different areas.

UPDATE July 2015 New ui is great. Nice improvement to the app. ORIGINAL Really cool app. Loaded with features and customization options. The main feature I like is the AR sky view that shows the path of the sun (and moon) against real objects in the sky. But there is also a map view, and even the option to Overlay sun and moon data on top of StreetView imagery. The only other app that Ive found that provides some of these features is Sun Seeker, but this one totally blows it out of the water. No competition.

Does everything they claim and does it all simply and without a fuss. Ive used it many times to plan sunrise & sunset photography and it is always perfectly accurate. Cannot recommend it it more highly.

As a photographer who shoots out doors most of the time its vital I understand when and where I will find the best light of the day to bask my clients in. I was really hesitant to drop 12 bucks on an app that I couldnt find any reviews on or preview at the time. I took a chance and have never looked back. Ive tried a few other apps but Sun Surveyor is AWESOME. I spend most of my time in map and AR view. The street view function is by far my most used tool, just a shame Google hasnt street viewed as much of Korea as I would like. I just updated today and it looks like a MAJOR overhaul from the previous version. It even addressed some features I was going to request. The one thing Id like to see is the ability to screen shot with an on screen button from any mode. I see it has been implemented in AR mode but I screen shot from map, street view and other modes all the time and it would be perfect if it was a touch away. Thanks for this superb app!

Great app use it all the time when hiking and found photography. It really does need to be updated to IOS 8 and for the Iphone6 and 6 plus.

Great app; also i like very much the graphic and the easy access to the option; get it youll be more sattisfied. I use it for my job and wonderful for photography as its very important for me to know the sun position during the day to get shots of the monuments.

Im disappointed. Site worked when first loaded--doesnt work well now....Map cannot move; elevations will not function and dont know what to expect...HELP!!! TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE...I CANNOT EVEN SEND THIS NOTE EFFECTIVELY

Already planning a sunrise over a bridge shot this Sunday morning thanks to this app. (and know that it will be next year before the moon will be perfect for another location - I may have to settle for other than a full moon!)

If you are a photographer or just traveling this app is the 1st one you HAVE to buy. Great great great, the best one out there. Use it everyday and I had a few other ones in the past. Will never look back. Support the developer, worth every cent.

Ive been using this app for several years and its been a life saver.

On the iPad Air, all I need for point-of-view calculations, plus loss of extra good stuff thrown in. Also excellent interface.

Just love using this app. Helping me understand window and skylights for a mountain home.

I use it all the time for video work. Tracked all the super moons this year. Cameras pointed at exact location and time of sunsets/moon rise. Must have for video/film/photography
