Excellent app for landscape and architecture photography. Complete information about sun and moon positions (including phase and rotation) in any time and at any place. Extremely handy and useful. Pricy, but worth every penny. Strongly recommended!

I’ve had this app for a while now. It was pretty good. The last update made it super good. Works really well. Sometimes the phone needs to be recalibrated to make things accurate (seems much better with the new update) but I think that is more related to how the phone works than anything with the app. Such great info shown to see the suns track throughout a day and year. I use the augmented reality feature the most - I can see the camera’s view with lines on the picture that shows where the sun will be. Would be cool if I could take a panoramic photo to have one picture with all my solar lines that the app can show.

Great app; also i like very much the graphic and the easy access to the option; get it youll be more sattisfied. I use it for my job and wonderful for photography as its very important for me to know the sun position during the day to get shots of the monuments.

Im a home designer and use it to tell how the sun will fall at different job sites so you know how to orient windows for lighting or shade.

As a photographer and person interested in astrophysics this app is an absolute goldmine!

This app is awesome! Very accurate live and street view of sun movement is pure genius. Glad I bought this. Perfect for photography and time traveling with the sun!!

Ive been finding some good uses around my property

I was looking for an app that I could use to find where the moon is at any given time of the day. My son is very interested in the moon now. This app is amazing! I can find the moon exactly where it is at any time!

I have been using free sun and moon trackers for sunrise/sunset, moon shots, and general lighting info but this one blew me away. IT IS SO WORTH THE PRICE if you need an accurate and very workable tool. I love the live view and the ability to work with Google steer view. If you rely on the sun or moon for your photos (Im thinking you all do to some extent) then you need this app. Ten stars!

If youre even reading this review, buy this app. As a nature and landscape photographer, I use this app nearly every single day to plan my shoots and trips that I take. Not only can you see the positions of the sun, moon, and milky way at any given date and time, you can view it live with your camera, from a top down map view, and street view. And thats just touching the surface of what this app can do. I can honestly say that my career and quality of work has drastically improved since buying this app over two years ago. I can plan what time of year will be best for the type of lighting I want in nearly any scenario, anywhere in the world. Solid 5 stars.

I work in film, where knowing where the light is on a location is important. Ive stood next to people with other sun tracking apps MULTIPLE times—some of the other apps costing north of $25—and Ive always had the most accurate read-out, hands down. Ive literally turned dozens of people into instant downloaders of this app in the field. This beats all of the others.

I bought the full version after a short demo of the free version. The added features do not disappoint. In fact, they are more in-depth than expected. Initially purchased as more of a learning tool to visualize the suns position throughout the day and year, Ive come to find this to be an essential tool for my casual photography. Not only will it help position and orient you for the time and place where you currently are, but the overlay of the sun (and moon) info on Google street view is genius. A few interface quirks, which the very friendly & responsive developer assured me were being improved upon. The rest of the app far outweighs any minor drawbacks or interface design clunkiness. If the free app engaged you or this app seems like it might be up your alley, trust me, it will surpass your expectations. Well worth the price for the functionality it offers. *The 2.0 app update really improves and enhances this already-great app.

I am an astronomy and physics teacher and certainly recommend this app for anyone teaching these subjects. Augmented Reality View is an incredible part of the apps functionality. Example: One of the major projects my students do in Astronomy is a 4 month photographic study of the motion of the sun to better understand celestial dynamics. Sun Surveyor has proved indispensable for my students as they select a location for their photos…a location they must be assured will give them clear access to the setting sun over that 4 month period. The developer has created a truly special app in Sun Surveyor. BRAVO!!

I shoot live tv professionally. This app helps me place flags to block out unwanted sun, and many other uses. The overlay of the suns arc over the camera image is invaluable. Thanks for a very thoughtful app!!
